Drill and Turnout:

  • Revision of drill movements up to 3 star.
  • Formal drill terminology and demonstrations on how to teach formal drill.
  • Qualities of a good instructor.

  • Shooting:

    Take part in shooting competitions Using:
  • .22 Rifle.
  • Cadet GP Rifle L98A1.
  • 7.62 Target Rifle.

  • Map and Compass:

  • Introduction to orienteering.

  • Fieldcraft:

  • Battle procedure, recieving and extracting orders at section level.
  • Act as section commander for ambushes, fighting patrols and in deliberate platoon attack (To include the orders process).
  • Participate in a simple wood clearance operation using stops/sweeps and assault groups as a member of a rifle section.

  • First Aid:

  • Qualify for a full adult first aid cetificate.

  • Physical Recreation:

  • Participate in an activity in the handbook for a minimum period, attempting to gain standards where appropriate.

  • OR
  • Gain the CCPR Community Sports Leaders Award (CSLA).

  • Expedition Training:

  • Training and preperation for a journey under the rules and conditions of the Duke of Edinburgh's award at silver level.

  • Cadet in the Community:


    Either:
    Assist in the planning, organisation and leading of a community project, approved by the cadet commandant (ACF) for 3 star cadets. involvement in the project must run over at least a three month period.
    OR
    Over a six month period, make a study of the social welfare needs in the local community and provide at least 30 hours service spread over a three month period on the decided project. On completion of the project the cadet must give a lecture to the rest of the detatchment study or project selected, based upon a submitted written report.

    PLUS for cadets taking the BTEC Award only
    Develop cadet's awareness of some of the main issues facing individuals and the public services in relationship to society. Detailed guidelines will be laid down by EDECEL/BTEC.
